The wait is almost over.
Sixteen years after the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championship was last played in the United States, the games are set to return. Exactly 100 days from today, the 2014 FIL World Championship begins with Opening Ceremonies at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo., followed by the rematch of the 2010 world championship game between Canada and the United States.
A record 38 nations are competing at this year's championship, including nine first-time participants. The teams will play 142 games over 10 days, all building towards the world championship game on Saturday, July 19.
